AMERICA!!!!!! that was my response to my dad when he asked me where i wanted to go study for my university degree, little did i know that my america wasn’t all that, It was simply an illusion created by my over-zealous mind. My American Quest started 2011 and its not been good. I left Nigeria for the U.S May 19 with great enthusiasm but with every knowledge that it wasn’t going to be a very good flight, i mean staying 60% stagnant on a 16hrs journey which included a stop-over at Germany in a man-made bird look alike is not all that pleasant.
The first part of my journey was to Germany, then to the U.S. I regret deciding to break the journey because Nigeria is not a Country that put smiles on the faces of international police (German police) infact seeing a green passport is every reason for them to be at their best. I mean it not their fault, some Nigerians have fuckedup seriously.’Excuse me pls, can i see your passport’ a tall German police asked me with the worst mischievous smile ever o his face. ‘Sure’ i replied, i reached into my side bag and gave him my passport, then a German citizen passedby laughing and said ‘you’ve got them this time’ in the worst english ever.
This German police is not like the everyday police i see n the road, tall, about 6ft 3, tattoo on his neck and an earring on his left ear. Nauseated by the strong strong cigarette stench oozing from him but still trying remain calm in-order to hide my discomfort
